The Everett School District board begins its search for a new district superintendent this month with public meetings, an online survey, an e-mail address and a designated phone number to gather public input.

The board hopes to have a new superintendent named by early May 2009 and ready to begin work on July 1, according to a press release.

At PTSA-hosted public meetings, board members will gather input about the qualities and attributes people think the superintendent should have.

The meetings are:

Wednesday, Oct. 22, 7-8 p.m. in the View Ridge Elementary cafeteria, 202 Alder St., Everett.
