There are many things people can do to reduce the risk fire can pose to their homes, and the upcoming open house for Snohomish County Fire District 7 is the place to learn those safety techniques.
The open house is from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at district headquarters, 8010 180th St. SE, in Clearview, just east of the intersection of Highway 9.
The events and activities for the open house are meant to inform and entertain. Visitors can, for example, receive free fire prevention materials, free coloring books, watch live fire safety demonstrations and puppet shows, check out a fire truck or aid car and receive free blood pressure checks. Refreshments will also be served.
This year marks the 20th such open house Fire District 7 has hosted in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week.
