The Edmonds Fire Department made 109 calls in and around Edmonds from July 17- 23, which brings this year’s total calls to 2,777.
July 23
Medical responses totaled 12. A nine-year-old experienced a seizure and was transported to Childrens Hospital. An 84-year-old Alzheimer’s patient wandered from home but returned safely prior to aid car and police arrival.
Fire crews were dispatched to 11 incidents. A stove was accidentally turned-on and melted a cooler that was placed on a burner; the homeowner extinguished the fire with baking soda. Firefighters required a resident in the 22400 block of 73rd Place SW to extinguish an illegal fire burning in an outdoor burn barrel.
July 22
Medical crews evaluated 14 patients, including an 83-year-old driver who was transported to Stevens Hospital after being rear-ended by another vehicle at 92nd Avenue W. and Bowdoin Way.
Fire crews responded to two calls, including an illegal backyard burn in the 700 block of Cedar Street.
July 21
Fire crews responded to three calls, including an outdoor-burn complaint in the 200 block of Fourth Avenue North. Firefighters advised resident that only seasoned wood, not wood debris, may be burned for a small cooking fire.
