Adam Yaw is headed back to nationals.
The Shorecrest High School junior will represent Region II at the 2003 Men’s Junior Olympic National Gymnastics Championships May 6-11 in Savannah, Ga.
Yaw, 16, clinched his third trip to nationals at the Region II championships April 12 in Anchorage, Alaska.
With an all-around score of 47.75, Yaw secured fifth place overall. His rings routine earned a silver medal score of 8.95.
Yaw will be honored as a first team USA Gymnastics Academic All-American during the national championships opening ceremonies. First team All-Americans must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.85 or higher.
A total of nine regions from across the U.S. compete in the Men’s Gymnastics Junior Olympics. Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington are all part of Region II.
Yaw competes for Cascade Elite Gymnastics in Mountlake Terrace and trains with coach Darius Campbell.
