Shorewood junior Tyler Hanson shot a two-round 153 to place eighth at the Northwest District 4A boys golf tournament and earn a return trip to state.
The top 14 finishers at districts qualified for the 4A state tournament, May 28-29 at Canyon Lakes Golf Course.
Marysville-Pilchuck’s Dom VanDaveer, who was in sixth place entering the final round, shot a 3-under-par 69 Tuesday at the Gallery Golf Course in Oak Harbor to win the district title.
Jackson’s Mike Hanson, who took a six-stroke lead into Tuesday’s second round after shooting a 4-under-par 68 last week at Sudden Valley, shot an 81 and finished tied for fifth.
Jacob Koppenberg, a sophomore from Everett, shot a final round 72 to place second and Cascade’s J.D. Clayton fired a 76 to finish third.
