Sweeping the competition in all categories, Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett was selected as Seattle’s 2008 Parents’ Picks for Best Museum as part of Nickelodeon’s ParentsConnect’s first annual awards.
In 1993, the Museum was located in a strip mall – a small, grassroots community effort. After a successful capital campaign, the Museum opened the doors to its brand new facility in 2004 with over 40,000 square feet of exhibits, classrooms and meeting space.
“Nominated amongst such Seattle hotspots as the EMP, the Museum of Flight and the Seattle Children’s Museum it is a huge honor to be given this award. This is the realization of many years of hard work from a large community of supporters,” said Executive Director Nancy Johnson.
The museum offers over 20 hands-on, interactive exhibits and has become a favorite among visitors from throughout King, Snohomish and Pierce County. It had more than 183,000 visitors in 2007.
