Army 2nd Lt. Sean D. Force has graduated from the Infantry Officer Basic Course at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. Force is the son of Kathleen Force of Brier. He received a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., in 2005.
Lynnwood
Air National Guard Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey C. Pintler, a 1988 Shorewood High School graduate, is currently deployed overseas at a forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Pintler, a medical technician with 14 years of military service, is normally assigned to the 141st Medical Group, Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane, Wash. He is the son of Gail and Constance Pintler of Lynnwood.
Mill Creek/Bothell
Navy Ensign Brett A. Simpson, a 1998 graduate of Cedar Park Christian High School in Bothell, recently reported for duty at Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas. Simpson joined the Navy in April 2004.
Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Bryan M. Ilyankoff, a 1999 graduate of Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek, departed on a scheduled deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism while assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu, homeported in San Diego, Calif. Ilyankoff joined the Navy in February 2003.
Navy Seaman Justin T. Smart, son of Doylean Shinners of Bothell and Thomas Smart of Montpelier, Idaho, made a five-day port visit to Brisbane, Australia, while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, based in San Diego, Calif.
Navy Seaman Recruit Michael T. Witham, son of Bonnie Davis Losey of Everett and Fred Witham of Bothell, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.
Edmonds
Navy Seaman Apprentice James N. Johnston, son of Kazuko and Bill Johnston of Edmonds, was recently promoted to his current rank upon graduation from recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Johnston is a 2005 graduate of Kamiak High School in Mukilteo.
