Legislature needs to put a stop to WSDOT

Your article in the Sept. 24 Enterprise pointed out a major problem (“Street closure prompts vandalism,” Sept 24). Our state government has gotten out of control. You quote Councilman Ron Wambolt as saying “There’s really just nothing we can do about it.” In the short run, he’s right. In the longer run, we might ask our legislators to take a more active role in the process. Isn’t it the Legislature that gives WSDOT its budget? If our legislators cannot protect us against WSDOT running rampant, we may just need to replace them.
