Girls Night Out — Nov. 3
The Arts Council of Snohomish County will hold its 10th annual Girls Night Out, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Historic Monte Cristo Hotel, 1507 Wall St., in Everett. This day is all about the “serious business of play,” according to the Arts Council. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn to belly dance, win a hula-hoop contest, take part in a cake walk and win an artist-made cake. There will be massage and hair makeovers available as well as more than 30 local designers with clothing, accessories and jewelry. Katie Couric’s “The Brand New Kid” — Nov. 4
Village Theatre Pied Piper presents Katie Couric’s “The Brand New Kid,” a musical produced by the Kennedy Center Theatre for Young Audiences on Tour, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave., in Everett. Based on the book written by Couric, “The Brand New Kid” begins on the first day of second grade, when Lazlo is the new kid in school. A typical 7-year-old boy, he is teased because he doesn’t look or speak quite like his other classmates. Things turn around when a popular classmate spends time with him, and together they teach their classmates a valuable lesson. The production is recommended for children in grades kindergarten through fourth grade and their families. Tickets cost between $12 and $14. Snowshoeing class — Nov. 14
The Alderwood REI in Lynnwood will hold Snowshoeing 101, an introduction to the winter sport of snowshoeing, at 7 p.m. Nov. 14. Attendees will learn about the appropriate selection of gear and the initial skills needed to get outside and on the trails. In addition, attendees will learn about snowshoeing locales. Country Village Holiday Open House — Nov. 17 and 18
Country Village will hold its annual Holiday Open House from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 17 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 18 at 23718 Bothell-Everett Highway, in Bothell. Along with perusing the wares of a variety of stores and enjoying the atmosphere of the shopping “village,” open-house attendees can participate in a scavenger hunt and enter their name in a drawing for a luxurious spa day at Amai Day Spa. Mannheim Steamroller holiday concert — Dec. 2
Mannheim Steamroller will roll into Comcast Arena at the Everett Events Center for one show only at 8 p.m. Dec. 2, debuting selections from its new CD “Christmas Song.” The band will take the stage accompanied by a 22-piece orchestra composed of local, professional musicians. Tickets range from $30 to $97, with a limited number of $152 tickets available for cabaret tables on the main floor, which include complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres.
