Easter Eggstravaganza
Easter egg hunt for kids, not adults
Having just gotten back from the Mill Creek Easter Egg Hunt, I want to express my disgust with the behavior of many parents. At the 12-month to 2-year-old hunt, a parent is allowed to accompany their small child on the egg hunt to assist the child in walking and getting around. I was shocked at the amount of parents I saw edging toddlers and babies out of the way to grab and fill their own child’s basket with eggs. How can a 2-year-old compete with a 40-year-old? After my 2-year-old was knocked to the ground twice by a parent, I picked him up in the air to move him to get some of the last eggs. He found two, and we gave one of them to a crying little boy with an empty basket who didn’t get any. We saw parents and their children leaving the 12-month to 2-year-old hunt with baskets filled with 10 or more eggs and walk through a line of infants and toddlers who didn’t get any. Shame on you parents for setting this disappointing and selfish example.
