Lynnwood: City manager first step to fixing things

  • Tuesday, August 10, 2010 9:08pm

I was born into a political family when public service was an honorable profession. It was a time when people with moral courage and integrity stepped forward to serve their communities.

I am proud of the contributions my father and my husband made to this country, their respective states, and my husband’s service to the city of Lynnwood. Both of these gallant men displayed genuine concern for others and a passion for honesty and integrity. I am saddened and disgusted by the politics of today that has deteriorated into blatant character assassination. It has become mean-spirited and self-serving.

Politicians seem more interested in placing blame than on fixing serious problems. The city of Lynnwood has serious problems! It’s time to take the politics out of local government and hire a professional city manager. Like every other multi-million dollar corporation we need a CEO who has been educated and experienced in how to run a city the size of Lynnwood. It is time to take the back-room, partisan politics out of City Hall. We don’t need to have our intelligence insulted again and be told the people who got us into this mess can possibly get us out of it. I’ve had enough! Have you?

Speak up Lynnwood voters and demand a change!
