A Lynnwood couple claimed a $340,000 check July 2 from Washington’s Lottery when they won the Hit 5 jackpot on June 30.
Sandra and Paul Erickson told state lottery officials they plan to buy a new car and possibly some big fireworks.
“My husband danced around the kitchen, and I got panicky because I couldn’t believe it was true,” said Sandra Erickson in a news release sent by the state lottery.
She bought the winning ticket at the Fred Meyer on 196th Street SW in Lynnwood where she buys all their groceries. The store will receive a retail selling bonus of $3,400.
For all lottery draw games, customers have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Winning ticket holders should always sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a secure place until they can come to a regional Washington’s Lottery office to claim their prize.
