The Lynnwood Arts Commission presents artwork from photographer Kim Eugene Hood and painter Carol Dale Duby at the Lynnwood Library Gallery from Jan. 11 through Feb. 14.

Kim Eugene Hood has exhibited his black and white photographs throughout the country. While home in Seattle, he splits his time as an outdoor guide and a fine art photographer. An adventure seeker at the core, Hood’s passion for the outdoors has driven him to climb and trek in mountain ranges on all seven continents. From a lone iceberg in a vast sea to rich tropical locals, his photography reflects the quiet moments that he seeks out while traveling.

Carol Dale Duby paints out of her studio in Bow, where she lives with her husband and their many four legged friends. A veteran of the health care industry and a life long learner, Duby has studied art therapy, cross-cultural shamanism and even astrological symbolism. Her paintings are vivid and full of life. “My work is inspired by my connection with nature and by journeys,” Duby said, “both outer world and inner world” A walk outside at night often leads to a sketch and then later a painting as Duby uses acrylics and watercolors to capture those moments when we feel connected with nature.

Free to the public, the Lynnwood Library Gallery, showcases local and regional artists on both the amateur and professional level. The library is closed on national holidays.
