A Lynnwood nursing home has changed hands a year after its now-bankrupt owner closed a nursing center in Snohomish.
Symmetry Long Term Care Group assumed management of Lynnwood Manor earlier this month from HMH Associates, Inc., said Bob McClintock, a DSHS regional administrator.
Although bankruptcy has forced a change in management of Lynnwood Manor, the nursing home’s 65 residents are continuing to get care, according to state Department of Social and Health Service officials.
Lynnwood Manor Health Care Center, at 5821 188th St. SW, had been licensed to HMH Associates, Inc., which has been in bankruptcy since April.
In December, DSHS conducted an inspection of the Lynnwood nursing home and noted problems with sanitary conditions in some parts of the building, patients with hygiene problems and two patients with bed sores.
In January, the state agency sent a letter to the nursing home saying that federal payments for new admissions of Medicaid and Medicare patients would be denied.
However, that issue has since been resolved, said Jerry Cutler, the nursing home’s administrator. “Everything is extremely positive,” he said.
Meanwhile, Wells Fargo Bank, to which the nursing home owed money, went to court asking that another organization, approved by DSHS, operate the facility.
Seattle-based Symmetry began managing Lynnwood Manor on Feb. 1.
Calls to HMH officials for comment were not returned.
Lynnwood Manor is licensed to care for up to 95 patients, including Medicaid and Medicare patients.
A year ago, HMH closed Parkway Nursing Center in Snohomish because of financial losses.
