The Edmonds Arts Festival Museum and the City of Edmonds Arts Commission present mixed media collage paintings by featured artist Kari Bergstrom MacKenzie from Feb. 3 through March 3. Both full sized and miniature works are on display.

A strong interest in the images of the Northwest is conveyed in her work. MacKenzie’s hope is that the pieces evoke a sense of peaceful and relaxing imagery. Punches of color emphasize the contrast between clarks and lights as she works to create each piece to reflect her passion for the subject work.

A member of the Northwest Collage Society, MacKenzie uses line and shape, along with texture and color of mixed media collage paintings to develop these compositions. This Poulsbo artist has shown her work in a number of group and one person exhibits throughout the Northwest including the Shoreline Arts Festival, the Edmonds Arts Festival, the Anacortes Arts Festival and the Sydney Museum &Arts Association Juried Show in Port Orchard. Galleries that have showcased her work include the Lakeshore Gallery in Kirkland, Corporate Art West in Bellevue, Galaxy of Graphics in New York City, and Atlantic Arts in Annapolis, Maryland.

The EAF Museum Gallery and the City of Edmonds Arts Commission Display Case are located at the main entrance of the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St. in Edmonds, which is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
