Martial arts students win

Ten students from Richards’ Tae Kwon Do in Mountlake Terrace took home 20 medals at last month’s 2002 Washington State Governor’s Cup Martial Arts Championship at St. Martin’s College in Olympia.

Gold medal winners included Charlotte Sawyer (gold in sparring, bronze in forms), Nikolay Osokin (gold in sparring, silver in forms) and Raquel Matlin (gold in sparring, silver in forms).

Other medal winners were: Kellison Dabling (bronze in forms and sparring), Nathan Gundersen (bronze in forms and sparring), Jonathan Suhr (silver in forms, bronze in sparring), Jordan Moscoso (bronze in forms and sparring), Larry Matlin (bronze in forms and sparring), Tom Loughlin (bronze in forms and sparring) and Daniel Rossousky (bronze in forms and sparring).

The team was coached by two-time world champion Sung-Mi Lee.
