The 1950’s are returning to Shoreline on Saturday, June 12 as the Shoreline Historical Museum hosts a “Hay-Day” rock and roll party featuring music from the late 1950’s to the early 60’s.
The party is in celebration for the closing of the Museum’s rock and roll exhibit, which opened on Feb. 21 of this year.
According to Vicki Stiles, Museum Director, long time Puget Sound broadcaster and local music promoter Pat O’Day, formerly of KJR radio station in Seattle, will be in attendance along with other local celebrities.
In conjunction with the rock and roll party, a one-day life size racecar exhibit will be presented in the parking lot, courtesy of The Golden Wheels Association, better known today as the “Auto Racing Pathfinders.” According to Hal Schlegel, vice president of the Pathfinders, the models that will be displayed are the Kurtis Kraft, the Solar and A J Watson, with the years of the cars ranging from the late 1930’s to the early 1960’s.
Although no attendance fee will be collected, donations will be welcomed.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Shoreline Historical Museum, located at 749 North 175th street in Shoreline. For more information call 206-542-7111.
