EDMONDS — The Merchants of Downtown Edmonds are planning their spring fashion show for Sunday, April 18, at the Edmonds Yacht Club. This is the second fashion show for the merchants association.

“The event was so successful last year that we decided to do it again – only bigger,” said Petra Rousu, owner of Savvy Traveler. “We moved the fashion show from the conference center to the yacht club so that we could accommodate double the number of people.” Organizers expect 220 to 240 people to be in attendance.

“A Day in Edmonds” will be emceed by two Edmonds merchants: Jenny Murphy, owner of Sound Styles, and Colleen Bowman, owner of C’est la Vie. Fashion and accessories from local merchants will highlight spring trends.

“From those who are showcasing their clothing for ladies, men and children to those who are contributing to gift bags, auction items and gifts, all the merchants are involved,” Rousu said. HOUSEWares, the Main Street retailer, is contributing the stage décor. Nama’s Candy Store is coordinating the music for the show. “It’s like we are putting on a big party.”

In addition to the fashions, area restaurants will serve a light lunch.

Proceeds of the event will go to support downtown community activities including the Art Walk, Halloween, First Dibs and the holiday tree lighting.

Tickets are $35. Tables can be sponsored for $350 for eight seats and a listing in the fashion show program. For tickets or more information, contact the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce at 425-670-1496 ext. 3 or www.EdmondsWA.com.
