Shoreline police are looking for a 23-30 year old Hispanic man who grabbed two women and fondled them on Feb. 27 in the Meridian Avenue North area.

At 11:20 a.m. that Thursday morning a woman was walking home from the store when at about 155th and Stone Avenue North a 23-30 year old Hispanic or Filipino man with dark spikey hair and a thin mustache wearing a leather jacket approached her, and grabbed at her. She put up her arms in self defense and turned to go the other way, pulling out her cell phone and dialing 911. The man could not be found by police, the report stated.

The same evening at about 8 p.m. a woman was walking along Meridian Ave. N with her headphones on, when she was approached and grabbed from behind by an Hispanic male police believe to be the same man.

The woman was able to break free and take out her pepper spray and spray him. He took off, running north on Meridian.

“Police did respond to both incidents and did area checks but were unable to locate him,” said Sgt. Knauss.

“We are telling people to be aware of your surroundings. Both times, he’s walked up from behind. He’s not overly aggressive, likes the element of surprise but is easily scared off,” Knauss said.

Police are looking for a Hispanic-looking male 5’5” about 23-30 years old with a short buzz cut.

Police are asking the public for any information about possible suspects, or other related incidents to call the precinct tip line, which will take anonymous calls at 206-546-7861 or to call the precinct at 206-546-6730.
