2007 Master Gardener Training – Applications for the 2007 Washington State University Master Gardener Program are now available. The Program trains volunteers in horticulture, gardening and pest management. These volunteers learn how to identify and troubleshoot common garden challenges and to offer environmentally responsible solutions. The 2007 Program is scheduled 8:30am to 4pm every Thursday from January 4 to March 8 and includes two Saturday training sessions (dates TBD). Hort Pro Master Gardeners Training – Registration deadline is October 30, 2006 for the 2007 course which runs January through mid March from 8:30am to 4pm each Thursday and one Saturday: Home gardeners and horticulture professionals can now train alongside Master Gardeners without having to provide volunteer payback hours. Instead they pay for the training and receive a Hort Pro Certificate from Washington State University Snohomish County Extension upon completion. Learn the Northwest best gardening practices including plant, insect and disease identification, botany, soils, pruning, composting, fruit and vegetables, perennials, trees, shrubs and vertebrate pest control and how to identify and troubleshoot today’s garden challenges using environmentally responsible options. Used Stamp Collection Project- Bothell Sons of Norway is collecting used stamps to raise money for disabled children in Norway.
