It’s “murder she baked” as mystery author Joanna Fluke makes a stop at Third Place Books Friday, March 4 to talk about her latest novel, “Peach Cobbler Murder.”
The best-selling author serves up her seventh Hannah Swensen mystery with a new twist: bakery owner and part-time sleuth Swensen finds herself in the new role as prime suspect when the owner of a competing bakery turns up dead. Swensen soon discovers she’s not the only person with an axe to grind with her late competitor. “Peach Cobbler Murder” continues Fluke’s novel formula of cooking up a satisfying whodunit with real mouth-watering recipes that readers can try on their own.
Like Hannah Swensen, Fluke was born and raised in a small town in rural Minnesota, but now lives in Southern California. The author of six previous Hannah Swensen mysteries, “Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder,” “Strawberry Shortcake Murder,” “Blueberry Muffin Murder,” “Lemon Meringue Pie Murder,” “Fudge Cupcake Murder” and “Sugar Cookie Murder.” Fluke is now working on her eighth Hannah Swensen Mystery, “Cherry Cheesecake Murder,” scheduled for release in 2006.
Fluke’s appearance is set for 6 p.m. Friday, March 4 at Third Place Books, located in the Lake Forest Park Towne Centre, 17171 Bothell Way NE. For more information call 206-366-3333.
