Museum hosts logging history presentation

The Shoreline Historical Museum presents a special event titled “From Big Trees to Timber — Logging and Sawmilling in the Northwest” with writer and historian Eric Erickson, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20.

Erickson, an authority on the history of the Puget Sound region’s lumber industry, is the author of the recently released “Issaquah Lumber Company History,” as well as the “Index to Lumber Businesses and Mills of King County.” and other publications and articles. He will treat the audience to an exhibit, slides and narrative about aspects of the logging industry in King County, including felling and bucking, hauling and horses, railroads and trucks, camps and mills, people and trees.

On the same day, The Shoreline/LFP Arts Council opens their museum gallery show featuring art from the City of Shoreline Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Arts for Life class.

The event is free to the public. The Shoreline Historical Museum is located at 749 N. 175th in the historic Ronald School building. For more information call 206-542-7111.
