We’re a month into the school year now — the days are shorter, the leaves are dropping and the fall sports season is in full swing.
We’d like to take a minute to commend all the student athletes working hard to be the best day after day. Nothing beats watching these dedicated players compete against one another and against themselves.
Football dominates the headlines on the sports pages this time of year — baseball may be America’s pastime, but football is America’s passion. The drama played out under those Friday night lights is unbeatable.
But there’s also tennis, volleyball, swimming and soccer to watch and support. These athletes may not get the same attention as their counterparts on the gridiron, but they are no less dedicated to their sports.
So if you have a moment, head on down to the next game or meet and cheer on these talented and hard-working students. Whether they win or lose, they’ve earned our support.
