Renovation work on the North Creek Trail began Monday, Oct. 9.

The trail is closed while crews repave the trail to remove bumps where tree roots have pushed up the asphalt. In addition, new trees and benches will be installed.

Work is taking place on the portion of the trail from behind the Huntron Building and Mill Creek City Hall south to the detention pond on the west side of Mill Creek Boulevard.

The trail is closed to pedestrians, cyclists and in-line skaters during construction, but sidewalks along Main Street and Mill Creek Boulevard are available as alternate routes.

Construction is expected to last four to six weeks, depending on weather conditions. Precision Earthworks of Lynnwood is doing the reconstruction at a cost of $151,500.
