The following are selected reports from area police departments.

Edmonds

Oct. 24

Narcotics. 23800 block of Edmonds Way. Traffic stop. Marijuana observed in plain view upon vehicle contact. Occupants taken into custody. Two subjects possessed dangerous weapons — knives.

Oct. 23

Burglary. 8400 block of 238th Street Southwest. Victims came home to find that three of their exterior window screens had been cut. No entrance was made into the home, although entrance was made into an adjoining shed.

Theft. 21900 block of Highway 99. Vehicle stolen from TOP Foods parking lot.

Oct. 22

Narcotics. 22100 block of Highway 99. Traffic stop. Driver extracted for frisk and arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. One passenger also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Crack cocaine located on person incident to arrest. Second passenger, who was believed to have swallowed narcotics evidence, arrested for warrants and later released due to hospitalization.

Oct. 21

Arson. 18300 block of 76th Avenue West. Unidentified subject punctured the two rear tires of a victim’s vehicle, poured gasoline on the car, and set it on fire. Suspect had been asked to leave a party where he started a fight.

Burglary. 600 block of Glen Street. Unknown person(s) attempt to pry open the front door to an apartment complex.

Lynnwood/Mountlake Terrace

Oct. 27

DUI. 22800 block of Brier Road. Police cited and released a 21-year-old Seattle man after detecting alcohol on his breath and running a sobriety test on him following a traffic stop.

Oct. 25

Collision. 23200 block of Brier Road. Police cited a 31-year-old Everett man for driving with a suspended license after his car was struck by a pedicyclist while he made a U-turn. No injuries were reported

Oct. 24

Juveniles with guns. 4000 block 214th St. SW. Brier Police took two Mountlake Terrace teenagers into custody after passing motorists reported seeing one of the boys point what looked like a handgun at them as they drove past. One driver told police he was westbound 214th St. SW. just west of 40th Ave. W. when he saw one of the teens point a light-colored handgun at him. Brier officers found the teens at the Victorian Woods Apartments. The boys were released to the custody of their parents pending investigation by the Juvenile division of the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office.

DUI. 22900 block of Brier Road. Police arrested a 47-year-old Brier man after a test revealed he was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier while intoxicated. The driver was released at his residence.

Oct. 23

Commercial burglary. 4300 block 236th St. SW. Police arrested a 20-year-old Mountlake Terrace man on a warrant and a 20-year-old Mountlake Terrace woman for possession of stolen property in connection with the theft from a storage shed at Creekside Apartments. The case was forwarded to the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office.

Burglary. Overnight. A hair salon owner said he returned to work on Oct. 23 to discover someone had stolen $45 cash from a locked drawer. There was no sign of forced entry.

Fraud. 23300 block of 32nd Ave W. A 34-year-old Brier man said his ex-wife forged his name on his checks and cashed them. Pending investigation.
