LAKE FOREST PARK – Voters in Lake Forest Park chose to send Mayor Dave Hutchinson and City Council member Carolyn Armanini on to the Nov. 4 general election.
Results from the Sept. 16 primary show Hutchinson received 56 percent of the vote and Armanini 36 percent of the vote. Political newcomer Don Quale got 7.4 percent of the vote.
About 27 percent of registered Lake Forest Park voters cast ballots in the primary election.
“I’m happy with the results and I think it reflects the success I’ve had in the past and my accomplishments over the last eight years,” Hutchinson said. “It shows that the majority of voters don’t want a change.
“I think 27 percent voter turn out is pretty good in a primary,” he said.
Armanini said: “It would have been great if our numbers were higher, but we’ve been focusing on the general election,” she said. “On to November.”
Armanini called the turn-out “very low, so it’s hard to read too much into what it means.”
Her strategy for the general: “We will be energized and work all the harder,” she said.
