LYNNWOOD — The local office of Windermere Real Estate recently donated $8,750 to the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

The money will go toward scholarships that will allow some children to attend Camp Orkila on Orcas Island and Camp Colman in Longbranch.

The office has been supporting YMCA for 25 years, contributing a total of more than $100,000.

A portion of the office’s recent donation comes from the Dick Wood Memorial Fund at the Windermere Foundation.

Dick and Cathy Wood opened the Windermere North office in June 1987.

“My dad and business partner, Dick Wood, believed that the camp experience made lifelong, positive changes in the lives of children,” said Lena Maul, the owner of the real estate office.

The Windermere brokers support a number of causes and serve the community in various ways. Last year, for example, they gave a makeover to an Edmonds home for people with disabilities.
