EDMONDS — A car crashed into an apartment near Stevens Hospital early in the morning of April 8.
At 1:58 a.m., Edmonds Police officers and Fire District 1 personnel were dispatched to the 7300 block of 216th Street Southwest and found that an Infiniti had left the roadway, crashed through a wooden fence and into an apartment. The driver had fled the scene before police arrived. The passenger, a 38-year-old Edmonds man, was still with the vehicle; he had received minor injuries and was transported to Stevens Hospital. The resident of the apartment, a 41-year-old woman, was upstairs at the time of the collision and was not injured.
An Edmonds Police Department K9 team searched the area but didn’t located the suspect.
The vehicle will remain in the apartment until the structure has been shored up and the vehicle can be removed safely.
The investigation is ongoing.
