Daryl Campbell is the new Vice President for Administrative Services at Shoreline Community College.
He will replace Stuart Trippel, who has served as acting vice president for administrative services since September 2006.
Campbell will oversee the departments responsible for finance, budgeting, facilities, safety and security and auxiliary services, such as the campus bookstore.
Campbell is currently vice president for finance and administration at Goddard College in Plainfield, Vt. Campbell also served as the school’s chief financial officer, dean of finance and institutional advancement and director of administration. At Goddard, Campbell was the chief architect of a business plan that led to a financial turnaround for the school in 2002, according to a press release.
He also was executive vice president and chief financial officer of a Burlington, Vt., health club management company.
Campbell will start at the college July 1.
Einstein offers Earth Day pep rally
Einstein Middle School’s Leadership Club and Science Club sponsored an Earth Day Pep Rally at both lunches on Monday, April 21, to create awareness about recycling.
A schoolwide recycling campaign also was launched.
Einstein’s art department joined the effort by decorating the common areas with posters and green reminders for the day.
Shoreline Christian presents ‘10 x 10’
The drama department of Shoreline Christian School will present “10 x 10,” a play of 10 modern plays of 10 minutes each based loosely on the 10 Commandments and performed by 10 student actors.
The play will be at 7:30 May 2 and at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Watson Groen Memorial Gymnasium at the school.
Tickets are $6 for students with ASB card and $8 for adults. Tickets for the matinee are $4 for students with ASB and $7 for adults. Tickets can be purchased by calling the school office at 206-364-7777.

Cheer, flag and drill teams perform
The Shorewood High School cheer, flag and drill teams and the Shorecrest hip hop, cheer and flag teams present performances at their show “That Thing On The Third!” to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
The show is at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Spartan Gym at the Shoreline Center.
Admission is $2.
National Merit Scholarship finalists
Six Shorewood High School students are finalists in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program.
They are Orion Burt, Dan Gnanapragasam, Darcy Jamieson, Christopher Lewis, Lucy Liu and Allison Sherris. To become a finalist, students must have an outstanding academic record, be recommended by the school principal and earn high SAT scores.
Every finalist will compete for one of 2,500 National Merit $2,500 Scholarships that will be awarded. In addition, about 300 corporations and business organizations will underwrite about 1,100 corporate-sponsored scholarships for finalists who meet their specified criteria. Also, about 200 colleges and universities are expected to finance 4,600 college-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards for finalists who will attend the sponsor institution.
Merit Scholarship winners of 2008 will be announced in four stages beginning in April and concluding in July.
