Rotary Students of the Month
The Rotary November students of the month are Amandeep Sandhu, Chase Parker, Alison Howard and Jessica Chang.
 • Alison Howard attends King’s High School. She has a GPA of 3.95 and is a member of National Honor Society, Link Crew Mentorship Program, Redmen — the School Spirit Club — and is ASB Secretary.
She was a member of Homecoming Court and a Toyota Scholarship Nominee and has volunteered at numerous food banks and with Equifriends (therapeutic horseback riding for the mentally and physically disabled). She’s helped organize and volunteer at the Woodway Community Fair, tutored local students and worked in an orphanage on a mission trip to Morelia, Mexico.
She’s participated in varsity-level equestrian competitions and won third place in the state in the Jumper Level of competition.
She’s won the Computer Science Award, King’s High School Student of the Month, National Merit Commended Scholar and was on the high honor roll for five years.
She plans to attend either Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif. or Seattle Pacific University, where she hopes to major in communications or business
•Â Jessica Chang attends Shorecrest High School. She has a GPA of 3.992, is a member of National Honor Society, a junior year Class Senator, is on Link Crew and in Student Action for the Student Environment, FBLA and Interact Club.
She’s been a Shoreline Teen Program volunteer, Parkwood’s Power Hour Tutor and has volunteered at Candy Cane Dash, Northwest Harvest Food Drive and The Giving Tree.
She plans to attend a four-year university to study pre-law and/or finance and go to law school at the University of Washington or Seattle University.
•Â Chase Parker attends Shorewood High School. He has a GPA of 3.716 and is in French Club (president, treasurer), Mock Trial (president), Progressive Youth of America (president), Spanish Club, Knowledge Bowl, Link Crew and National Honor Society.
He has won the Youth Referee of the Year award from the Seattle Soccer Referee Association, the Terrific T-Bird Award and is an AP Scholar.
He’s a Richmond Little League coach and has done summer volunteering at the high school, been a National Honor society tutor and done weekly French tutoring. He’s played C-team soccer, been a Seattle Soccer referee and has been on the Seattle Soccer Referee Association executive board as a youth representative.
He plans to attend college and do a master’s program in International Business and Foreign Languages, partially living in Europe and Seattle and working for a European business firm.
•Â Amandeep Sandhu attends Shorewood High School. She has a GPA of 3.6 and has been involved with Spanish Club (Connections officer), Amnesty International (treasurer), Honor Society (vice-president of service) and CWD.
She won the T-bird of the Month award, Most Inspirational Player in basketball and the President’s Award for service.
She’s volunteered at Meridian Park Elementary School, Pacific Science Center and the University of Washington Medical Center. She’s played basketball, run track and participated in dance.
She plans on going into the medical field and is currently looking into surgical specialties. She would like to go to the University of Washington and look into the Environmental Sciences programs. She plans on traveling in her future and doing volunteer work. She would like to join the Peace Corps or Doctors without Borders.
Nominate a support person
Nominations are open for the 2006-07 Shoreline Support Person of the Year. Nominations may be made by staff, students, parents and community members.

Nomination packets are due in the Public Information Office at Shoreline Center by Jan. 26, 2007.
