Shorewood Boosters auction

Join the Shorewood High School community for an evening and help support Shorewood student activities, clubs and scholarships. The 2005 Shorewood Boosters annual auction will start at 5 p.m. March 5, 2005 at the Shoreline Center. This event features a full-course dinner and dessert, live auction, raffle, silent auction and no-host bar. Tickets are $40 each if purchased by Jan. 31, $50 each after. SCS holiday performances

The Drama Department of Shoreline Christian School will present “The Open Arms of Christmas” at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 13 in the multipurpose room of First Christian Reformed Church, 14555 25th Ave. NE. The school invites community members to experience this play about friendship and opening oneself up to new possibilities. Admission is free (donations will be accepted).

MeeAe Hong, a freshman at Shoreline Christian, recently performed a violin solo at the fall concert of the Cascade Youth Symphony at Benaroya Hall. Hong will be performing in the Shoreline Christian annual Christmas concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16 in the sanctuary of First Christian Reformed Church.

Hong has played violin since age 7 and won her first award in the Korean Students Music Competition at age 11. She came to the United States and entered Shoreline Christian in 2003 and in that same year joined Cascade Youth Symphony.

Kindergarten sign-up info

Kinderfest 2005 will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29 in the Shoreline Room at the Shoreline Center, 18560 First Ave. NE.

The Shoreline School District Kinderfest provides an opportunity for parents who will be enrolling their children in kindergarten for the 2005-06 school year to gather information about the various kindergarten programs and services available.

Topics to be covered include kindergarten curriculum (including math, science, literacy and technology), registration procedures, transportation, health and safety issues, before/after school care, immunization requirements, student services that are available and all-day or half-day programs. Parents will also have an opportunity to visit a kindergarten classroom.

Kindergarten registration for the 2005-06 school year begins on Tuesday, Feb. 1. Parents can register their child at the school in their attendance area on Tuesday, Feb. 1 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and effective Feb. 2 the registration hours will be between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. any school day.

Kindergarten registration packets will be available in all elementary buildings beginning Jan. 24.
