Student receives scholarship

Shorecrest High School graduate, Jacob Milner, recently received the Barbara Widner and Dorothy Vanderbook Memorial Foundation scholarship for humanitarian and peace activities.

The foundation is an off shoot of the International Grandmothers for Peace organization. Milner will attend Western Washington University/Fairhaven College this fall.

SCC names new board member

Shoreline Community College recently appointed “Gidget” Terpstra to its board of trustees.

Terpstra received the Washington Award for Excellence in Education in 1999 for her work with Kellogg Middle School and Shorecrest High School. From 1994-2003, Terpstra served as a trustee on the Shoreline Public Schools Foundation.

Terpstra replaces Sarah Phillips who served on the Shoreline Community College Board for 10 years.

Shorecrest class of ‘94 reunion

Graduates of the class of 1994 from Shorecrest High School will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the Lake Washington Tap Room. For more information or to RSVP go to www.classmates.com.

August Arts at Meridian Park

From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Aug. 16-20, at Meridian Park, NE 170th &Wallingford N., students can participate in the Shoreline School District’s August Arts program directed by Eileen Berlin.

Student receives scholarship

Shorewood High School graduate, Lindsay Christianson, received $1000 the Evelun Purdue Memorial Scholarship from the Edmonds Driftwood Players.

The Players award scholarships to students who have shown achievement in their school theater departments.

Christianson plans to attend the University of Washington this fall.
