Shoreline teachers earn certification

Two Shoreline teachers have earned the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification. The teachers are both from Shorecrest High School, Andy Barker, English teacher and Kate Pankiewicz, library specialist.

In all, 102 teachers from Washington, more than double the number of state teachers board certified last year, have earned this certification. Karen Mikolasy, retired last year as a Shorecrest English teacher, earned this honor in 1999.

“Shoreline congratulates Kate and Andy and wishes them continued success and professional growth,” said Superintendent Jim Welsh.
