The first stop of the summer for many of the area’s top high school boys basketball teams will be in Shoreline.

The two Shoreline District high schools are cohosting the first annual Shoreline Shootout this weekend. Games will be played on two courts at Shorecrest and one court at Shorewood.

Among the 16-team field are six schools who advanced to the state playoffs last season: Bellevue Christian, Evergreen, Franklin, Mercer Island, Mountlake Terrace and Rainier Beach.

The championship game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Shorecrest.

Joining Shorecrest in Pool D are Emerald Ridge, Mercer Island and North Kitsap. Shorewood was grouped with Bellevue Christian, Lindberg and Kent-Meridian in Pool A.

Pool B consists of Lake Washington, Rainier Beach, Lynnwood and Evergreen. Franklin, Tyee, Sumner and Mountlake Terrace make up Pool C.
