Scriber Gardens opens 24 new apartments in Phase II

Scriber Gardens Retirement Community, independent apartment living for seniors, added 24 new apartments. The opening of Phase II completes the community, with new floor plans ranging in size from 472 to 988 square feet.

Each floor plan flows easily, enhanced with large, paned windows that bring the outside in. Courtyard and territorial views offer light, bright living spaces. Alcove one and two bedroom designs are available in Phase II. Tours are available and reservations for the new apartments are being accepted now.

All apartments in the building include a kitchenette, microwave, walk-in shower, emergency call and excellent storage. Some include a full-size refrigerator and washer/dryer. An elevator and three stairwells link the two floors.

“There’s no place better,” said Frank Schricker, resident of Scriber Gardens. Frank arrived at Scriber Gardens about two years ago, after his family helped him move from his home in Kennewick, WA. Since he arrived, Frank has been the first to sign up for a variety of activities offered, and currently serves on a resident committee. Witty and to the point, Frank routinely touts the efforts of the staff and the services they provide. “Just ask, and they’ll take care of it for you,” agrees Dora Schulmerich also a resident for two years.

Scriber Gardens has attracted residents like Frank and Dora since opening three years ago – residents who thrive in the lifestyle of this comfortable retirement community. Located near the heart of Lynnwood and just one block from the Lynnwood Senior Center, Scriber Gardens feels like home, where residents, family, friends and guests immediately know they are welcome. The community appeals to seniors who are independent and enjoy living that way, without the strain of maintaining a home or depending on family members for regular assistance.

Scriber Gardens provides two nutritious meals every day, weekly housekeeping and linen service, and scheduled transportation for shopping and doctor visits. Utilities and expanded cable are included in the monthly rent. Personal care services can be contracted with a home care agency that is conveniently located on site. Residents can also choose to contract with home care agencies from outside the building.

Fun? Did someone say fun? Residents enjoy weekly outings together, whether they’re headed for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival or Leavenworth, the Clipper or Krispy Kreme. Theme parties and events bring entertainment to the community in the large social room. Residents can reserve the social room or other common meeting rooms at no charge for private gatherings. Two courtyards offer seasonal color and a lovely place to relax, and are especially appreciated by residents whose apartments border the gardens. Raised vegetable beds are available for residents who enjoy a little hands-on gardening.

Scriber Gardens Retirement Community is owned by Scriber Gardens, L.L.C. and managed by Gencare Inc., a local property development company, specializing in independent living apartments for seniors.
