“Light Up the Sound” is the theme of the South County Senior Center’s seventh annual dinner auction set for Friday, Sept. 22, in the center’s waterfront facility at 220 Railroad Ave. in Edmonds.
The annual affair is open to all. Attendees, sponsors and donors from throughout Snohomish and King counties traditionally support the gala fundraiser.
A catered dinner, silent and live auctions will be held during the event, which begins at 5:30 p.m. This is the major fund raiser of the year for the senior center. All proceeds benefit services and programs involving nutrition, health and social services, education, recreation, employment and fellowship for senior citizens.
Among the auction items expected to draw spirited bidding are a Holland America cruise, weekend getaways, theater tickets, salon pampering packages, jewelry and gift certificates to popular restaurants. Dolly Haakenson, wife of Edmonds Mayor Gary Haakenson, again will decorate the auction gift baskets.
Tickets are $50 per person and include hors d’oeuvres, dinner and beverages. Reservations are required and must be made by Wednesday, Sept. 6. Call Janice at 425-774-5555 for more information.
