Shoreline will spend $302,000 on two sidewalk projects that should be finished by the end of December.

The City Council at the Sept. 23 meeting approved the proposals that will add sidewalks along NE 175th Street from Meridian to Corliss avenues and another section 15th Avenue NE to the YMCA.

The budget for the Meridian-to-Corliss project is projected to be about $186,000, with $126,652 coming from a state grant. The project will add curb, gutter, sidewalk and railing to connect two existing sidewalks that serve a bus stop, church and school in the area, according to a city report.

The 15th Avenue-to-YMCA segment is budgeted at $116,000, including $52,000 in state money, according to the report. The project will add an 8-foot-wide sidewalk with curb, gutter and driveway entrances.
