Snohomish County continues it’s decline in hotel occupancy rates, ending August down 5.2 percent over 2007; ending at 82.8 percent. The average rate rose compared to last year at $98.78 for the month, up 4.2 percent over 2007. Snohomish County is in seventh place in revenue per available room for August as compared to all reporting counties at $81.79, a decline in room revenue as compared to 2007 for the third time this year. Year to date, the county is second in occupancy and room revenue to King County, dropping to fourth in average rates.
