Christian Faith Center will be providing 1,000 families in their communities with full Thanksgiving meals from 9-11 a.m. Nov. 20 at Christian Faith Centers in Federal Way and Mill Creek.
To help or participate, bring in a bag of food items, give financial donations to help purchase turkeys or volunteer to serve at the Big Give.

Mill Creek Garden Club
Learn how to create and keep spring- like colors in your yard during the winter months. Lynn Menne, owner of Lynn’s Gift &Garden in Bothell, will be the guest speaker to inspire and show how to beautify your garden. Get some “how-to tips” and spark creativity by mixing décor and color that will last all winter long. Ready-made containers will also be available for purchase. Menne is also the landscape lady and caregiver of the Friendship Garden along Village Green Drive.

MLT Library one-day book drive
Too many books? The Friends of the Mountlake Terrace Library, in partnership with Once Sold Tales, which sells new and old books, will be on hand to receive gently used books from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W.
Proceeds from the books, sold at a later date, will be used to fund quality family programming at the MLT Library.
All donations to the Friends of the Mountlake Terrace Library are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Swedish/Edmonds Festival of Wreaths silent auction
Eat, drink and bid merrily during the Festival of Wreaths silent auction at Swedish/Edmonds 6-9 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Plaza Room in the Edmonds Library, 650 Main St., Edmonds. Proceeds benefit the programs and patients of Swedish Edmonds Breast Center. Event is free; donations at the door are welcome.
The Festival of Wreaths silent auction is a fun-filled evening of music, food and friendship to help fight breast cancer.
Browse wreath stations with more than 40 traditional and theme-based wreaths including pet-lover’s, spa-goer, sports fan and coffee drinker themes.
VETERANS DAY
UW Bothell activities for Veterans Day
The University of Washington Bothell will be hosting several events on Nov. 8 to commemorate Veterans Day 2010.
Events include a craft project presented by the Campus Events Board, a student barbecue and various speakers throughout the day.
Included in the day’s events is “Families of Those Who Serve: Understanding Challenges on the Other Side of War,” a workshop presented by Steve and Lisa Tice, 2-3 p.m. Nov. 8 in UW1-021 on the UW Bothell Campus, 18115 Campus Way NE, Bothell. This event is free and open to the public.
The Associated Students of the University of Washington Bothell (ASUWB) and the Chancellor’s Office will be hosting a Veterans’ Day Reception, 4-5:30 p.m., UW1-280.
During the reception, Michael Gregoire (spouse of Gov. Christine Gregoire) and director John Lee from the Washington Department of Veterans Affairs will be in attendance as UW Bothell becomes a member of Partners for Veteran Supportive Campuses. Additionally, UW Bothell will be officially recognized by the state as a veteran-friendly campus.

Janell Wood and Christina Moore, the photographer and author of the book “War and Sacrifice: Personal Stories of World War II From in and Around Snohomish County,” will show their video interviews of World War II veterans, 7-8:30 p.m., Nov. 10, at the Lynnwood Library, 19200 44th Ave. W. Veterans Day ceremony
VFW Post 1040 is having a Veterans Day ceremony 11 a.m., Nov. 11 at Lynnwood Veterans Park, 44th Avenue West and Veterans Way.
There will be bagpipers, a wreath laying and a rifle volley salute. Guest speaker will be 1st District Rep. Al O’Brien.

St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox bazaar
St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church is hosting its 21st annual Egyptian indoor festival from 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Edmonds Yacht Club, 326 Admiral Way, Suite 100, Edmonds. Red Ribbons and Reindeer
