Thomas 33rd at Border Clash
King’s sophomore Olivia Thomas finished 33rd out of 78 runners in the 4,400-meter girls race at the eighth annual Border Clash Nov. 18 on the Nike Campus in Beaverton, Ore.
Thomas crossed the finish line in 17 minutes, 36.91 seconds in her first appearance in the race. She finished second in the Class 1A state championships in Pasco Nov. 4 and led King’s to the state title.
King’s senior Jeff Dull finished 53rd in the boys race in 15:13.36.
The Washington girls squad won, scoring 70 points to Oregon’s 196. The Washington boys won 55 to 272. The top 10 runners from each state scored.
T-birds, Scots earn tennis honors
The following players made the Western Conference South Division boys tennis all-league teams.

DeKoekkoek earns first team nod
Shoreline Christian senior middle blocker Julia DeKoekkoek was named to the first team Northwest A/2B League All-League volleyball team for 2006. LaConner senior setter Carlee Marble, who helped the Braves to the 2B state title, was named the league’s Most Valuable Player for the third consecutive year. LaConner’s Suzanne Marble was named Coach of the Year and the Braves also snagged the team sportsmanship award.
