ROCK CLIMBING: The Lynnwood Recreation Department will offer rock-climbing instruction for K-6th graders from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 10. All participants will receive proper belayed training and climbing technique instructions as well as time to climb in a safe indoor environment. Participants must wear tennis shoes. CHEER CLINIC: The Lynnwood Recreation Department hosts a skills-and-drills cheer clinic for grades 1-6 from 4-6 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays (Jan. 31- Feb. 16). The clinic is designated for boys and girls wanting to learn basic cheer techniques and various dance/cheer routines. Each session will begin with stretching and warm-ups, then move into instruction on basic movements, simple jumps, dance steps, chants and cheers. There will be no stunts. Tennis shoes must be worn. Clinics will be taught by former cheerleaders from the local area. Pom poms will be provided. The fee is $60/$55. Information: 425-771-4030.
