FITNESS TESTING: The city of Shoreline’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services department is sponsoring free fitness testing programs and orientation classes at the weight training and conditioning room of Spartan Gym. The schedule is as follows: skin fold measurements, Nov. 12; waist to hip ratios, Nov. 18; flexibility testing, Oct. 6; fitness ball testing, Oct. 9; upper body strength testing, Oct. 14 and Nov. 30; muscular endurance testing, Oct. 21 and Dec. 11; blood pressure check Oct. 26; body mass index measurements Nov. 6. ICE HOCKEY: The Seattle Adult Hockey League is registering players 35 and older and 50 and older for winter hockey at Highland Ice Arena in Shoreline. Information: 206-526-8006. Highland also offers a hockey program for adults and youths 5-14. Adult drop-in hockey games are Wednesdays, 10:15 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. and Saturdays, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Player slots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. WEIGHT ROOM: The Spartan Gym weight room at Shoreline Center is open from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The weight room includes a variety of free weights and both cardiovascular and aerobic equipment (including treadmills, recumbent bikes, elliptical machines, etc). Drop-in fees are $2.50 per visit for adults and $1 for youth.Â
