IALDERWOOD HOOPS: The Alderwood Hoops Club, a non-profit community-based youth basketball program, will be conducting its second annual Fall Player Development program for boys and girls in grades 4-8 in September and October. Instruction provided by high school level coaches on Saturdays and Sundays. The fee is $55 for four 2-hour sessions.

BOATING CLASS: The United States Power Squadrons offer a four-week Boat Smart class starting Sept. 4. The class will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. for four consecutive Wednesdays at the Mr. Kleen 76 station, 19611 Alderwood Mall Parkway in Lynnwood. The course will teach basic boating safety, required equipment, rules of the road, boat handling and other subjects of safe boat operations. HOOPS TRYOUTS: The Lynnwood Tigers Youth Sports Girls AAU Select basketball program is having tryouts on Aug. 29 for its fifth and sixth grade teams and Aug. 28 for its eighth grade girls team. The tryouts will be at Hazelwood Elementary on the covered outdoor courts from 6:30-8:30 pm. Information: Dave, 206-654-5275.
