YMCA BASKETBALL: The Shoreline/South County Family YMCA will offer a non-competitive basketball league that focuses on skill development and teamwork. Children ages kindergarten through sixth grade practice once or twice a week and play weekly games. A preschool program also is offered. Information: 206-364-1700 or www.shorelineymca.org.

UMPIRES WANTED: Richmond Little League is in need of volunteer umpires for the 2007 season and beyond. No experience needed. Free training. Shirt and hat are provided.  Information: contact Charlie Clark at 206-542-8020 (evenings) or send an e-mail requesting information to rllblue@comcast.net.

 PICK-UP HOOPS: Players 18 and older are welcome to participate in pick-up basketball games 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Shoreline/South County YMCA. Fee: $2. Information: 206-364-1700.

SHORELINE POOL: Swim lessons for children and adults, lifeguard training, open swim sessions and other aquatics programs are offered year-round at Shoreline Pool. Information: 206-362-1307.

WEIGHT ROOM: The Spartan Gym weight room at Shoreline Center is open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The weight room includes a variety of free weights and both cardiovascular and aerobic equipment (including treadmills, recumbent bikes, elliptical machines, etc.). Drop-in fees are $2.50 per visit for adults and $1 for youth.

ICE HOCKEY: Highland Ice Arena in Shoreline offers a hockey program for adults and youths 5-14. Adult drop-in hockey games are from 10:15-11:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and from 5:30-7 p.m. on Saturdays, Player slots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Goalies are not drop-in for these sessions. All players are required to wear helmets. Information: 206-546-2431 ext. 28.
