What: Ninth annual festival features arts &crafts booths, food booths, commercial booths, live entertainment, community performances, Kids Korner, Pet Plaza featuring Dock Dogs, and a different classic car show each day of the festival.

Swingin’ Summer Eve

Where: Paramount School Park, 15300 8th Ave. NE, Shoreline.
What: Sponsored by the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council and the City of Shoreline, the event moves to Paramount School Park this year while the usual spot at Cromwell Park is under construction. Event includes live music, a barbecue fundraiser by the Shoreline Fire Dept., pre-concert games and activities for children and a used book sale hosted by the Council of Neighborhoods.

Tour de Terrace

Where: Evergreen Playfields, 56th Ave. W &224th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace.
What: The 16th annual three-day community festival sponsored by the Nile Shrine Center a parade Friday evening; pancake breakfast Saturday and Sunday, then continues with a street fair, live music, carnival, miniature golf, arts &crafts, a car show and a fireworks display at 10 p.m.

Celebrate Shoreline
When: Noon-5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14-16.
Where: Various locations, Shoreline.
What: Shoreline’s 14th birthday celebration includes a teen skateboard competition and party event at the Connie King Skate Park; a parade and a festival at Ridgecrest Elementary School featuring food booths, arts &crafts, community groups and car show on Saturday; and a sandcastle contest Sunday at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park. The North City Jazz Walk kicks off the event early this year on Aug. 11, followed by the Ridgecrest Neighborhood Annual Ice Cream Social.

A Taste of Edmonds

What: The 27th annual three-day festival offers tastes of local restaurants and food vendors, arts &crafts booths, children’s area, three entertainment stages, roaming performers and a beer garden.

Brier SeaScare &Porchlight Parade
When: 6-10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Where: Downtown Brier, between Brier Library (232th) and Brier Realty (238th)
What: This 8th annual casual community event features a kid-focused parade with a “sea” theme — scary sea creatures, octopi, pirates, boats, nautical or any sea related idea, kid’s games and activities, food drive, book sale, musical entertainment, pie eating contest, “Outdoor Cinema,” and food and beverages. Kids are invited to participate in “Kidscare” at noon Friday, Aug. 7 at the Brier Library to decorate t-shirts, sing songs and have snacks, then walk with the library staff in Brier’s SeaScare Parade on Aug. 12.

Bothell RiverFest
