Suspected burglar, seen, steals nothing

The following are selected reports from the Edmonds police department’s police blotter:

June 5

Robbery. 23600 block of Highway 99. Suspect steals jewelry from Cline Jewelers and then threatens to assault an employee with a concrete cinder block as he attempts to flee. Suspect in possession of a set of keys found to belong to a stolen vehicle in the parking lot.

June 4

DUI. 244th St. SW and Highway 99. Adult male arrested for DUI and collision with a pedestrian. The driver left the scene after knocking the pedestrian to the ground. He asked if pedestrian was OK and then drove away. Driver was arrested for DUI and failing to yield to a pedestrian. Booked at Lynnwood Jail.

June 3

Burglary. 18500 block of 76th Ave. W. Commercial burglary. Suspects left before taking anything. Suspect description obtained by witness.

Malicious mischief. 700 block of Main St. A mess was discovered at the men’s restroom inside the gym at the Frances Anderson Center. No suspect. No dollar value damage done.

June 2

Theft. 24100 block of Highway 99. Juvenile arrested for shoplifting from Burlington Coat Factory and for possession of alcohol by a minor. Juvenile was also a mission person out of King County.

June 1

Civil. 900 block of Cedar St. Neighbors argue over property lines and plants.

Narcotics. 23600 block of Highway 99. Traffic stop revealed the driver to be suspended, with a warrant, with drug paraphernalia and with a dangerous weapon. The driver was arrested and booked at Snohomish County Jail.

May 31

Burglary. 17500 block of 72nd Ave. W. Complainant reported that someone entered his vacant residence and stole a set of tools and several cans of paint from the garage, a hanging decoration from a stair ceiling and damaged a wood burning stove that was in the basement.

May 30

Harassment. 7900 block of 212th St. SW. Suspect made repeated harassing telephone calls at inappropriate times to the victim using lewd and vulgar language.
