The 2004 firefighter calendar judging event is open to the public

Judging for the annual firefighter calendar will be open for the public to watch this year.

The calendar, which includes photos of male and female firefighters from all over the Puget Sound area and benefits the Washington State Council Firefighter Burn Foundation, will start at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 15 at Club Broadway at 1611 Everett Ave., Everett.

Attendees must be 21 or older, Tickets are $20 each plus a service charge and can be purchased ahead of time at www.firefightercalendar.org/events.htm, Ticketmaster or at the door the day of the event.

The foundation provides funding for burn research and prevention education through a system of grants. Funding has been provided for a number of research projects at the University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center and Burn Treatment Center, and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma.

Firefighters compete before a panel of local celebrity judges including radio, television and print media personalities.

While the judges will make final decisions about who will be included in the 2004 calendar, the a vote after the event.
