Two Edmonds residents have been chosen as interns with the Olympia-based Evergreen Freedom Foundation as part of its competitive Young Leaders Internship Program.

Meghan Olson, a senior-to-be at Seattle Pacific University, will research election-reform issues such as ballot security and vote-by-mail, as well as research the availability of public records.

Joseph McCleary, a junior-to-be at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich., will develop an outline and itinerary for classes and events at the foundation’s newest branch, the Citizen Action Network, which educates Washington residents to be informed about and active participants in their government.

The foundation is a nonprofit policy think-tank dedicated to advancing individual liberty, free enterprise, and limited accountable government.
