Community Transit will add new service between the University of Washington and Marysville and the McCollum Park Park &Ride as part of its restructured University District service starting in September. The agency also will begin service to Mill Creek’s Town Center starting with the changes, effective Sept. 26.
The agency’s board of directors approved the service change plan at its meeting May 6.
New COMRoute 821 will provide four round trips per day between Marysville and the University of Washington. New Route 812 will also offer four rounds trips between the McCollum Park Park &Ride and the university.
The new routes are part of Community Transit’s major restructuring of service to the University District. Changes will include trip reductions and modifications for route 810, 855 and 870.
Other changes will include new route 871, which will replace portions of Routes 850, 870 and 875, and new Route 851, which will replace most of Route 850. Route 875 will be eliminated. University District service operates Monday through Friday, with these changes starting on Monday, Sept. 27.
Several local route changes are planned. Routes 114, 115 and 116 will be adjusted to serve the new Mill Creek Town Center area. Routes 110 and 630 also will have adjustments. Boeing-Everett commuter Routes 207, 217 and 227 will be adjusted in North Snohomish County.
Commuter Routes 401, 402, 408, 410, 411, 415, 417, 422 and 424 will have changes in downtown Seattle.
Preliminary details about the changes are available at www.communitytransit.org. Final details will be available in August.
