Wesco names winter all-stars

For the second year in a row, Shorewood’s Rob Diederichs was a first-team all-Western Conference 4A South Division selection in boys basketball.

The 6-foot-7 junior swingman led the league in scoring at 18.4 points per game. Diederichs registered a season-high 39 points in an 83-78 loss to Jackson Feb. 13.

In boys swimming, Shorewood’s Garrett Gentling received first-team recognition in the 200-yard individual medley and teammate Spencer Mestel was a first-team honoree in diving.

Shorewood’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Steve McCall, Matt Kim, Michael Korpi and Andrew MacGeorge also earned first-team honors.Wesco South boys basketball
